Semi Custom Packaged DX DOAS with 30 Tons Cooling

Written by XeteX | 11/25/25 5:05 PM

This basis of design AVENTUS by XeteX project showcases an outdoor semi-custom packaged DX dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) for a manufacturer.

Engineered for precision in critical environments, this AVENTUS by XeteX semi-custom DOAS delivers 30 tons of packaged DX cooling, indirect gas heat, and hot gas reheat, supporting dependable year-round climate control. An advanced sensible crossflow plate heat exchanger maximizes energy recovery, while high-efficiency filters at each air path (OA/SA/RA) safeguard indoor air quality by capturing airborne particulates.

Let's take a look at performance and see what's inside...

CONSTRUCTION

The AVENTUS outdoor semi-custom packaged DX DOAS is designed with thermal break construction to eliminate thermal bridging and minimize the risk of condensation within the enclosure. The all-aluminum construction offers long-term corrosion resistance as well as weight savings.

  • Outdoor unit with thermal break construction
  • 2” double wall casing with 2” injected foam (R-14) insulation
  • 14ga (0.063) aluminum exterior casing
  • 14ga (0.063) aluminum interior panel
  • Welded 8” structural aluminum base with welded lifting lugs
  • 14ga (0.063) aluminum floor with 2” injected foam (R-14) insulation

FEATURES

Modulating crossflow bypass damper with actuator provides adaptive air routing for optimized energy transfer across varying load conditions.

A modulating recirculation damper enhances flexibility in system operation, allowing for controlled blending of air streams to maximize efficiency and maintain critical temperature and humidity requirements.

High-performance electronically commutated (EC) motors are utilized for supply air, exhaust air, and condenser fans, delivering superior airflow control, reduced energy consumption, and quiet operation for sensitive environments.

A field-wired ground fault interrupter (GFI) service outlet is installed to ensure code-compliant, safe electrical access for routine maintenance and diagnostics.

304 stainless steel coil casings are specified for robust corrosion resistance, supporting reliable operation even in challenging industrial and commercial environments. The double-sloped, foam-insulated 304 SS coil drain pan is engineered to promote complete drainage, prevent microbial growth, and protect against moisture-related issues.

Compressor assemblies are equipped with high-performance sound blankets to significantly reduce operating noise, supporting occupant comfort and compliance with strict sound specifications.

Full unit control is managed via BACnet MS/TP integration and an intuitive LCD display, providing seamless communication with building automation systems and straightforward monitoring of all unit functions.
