Discover how XeteX helped this downtown commercial building breathe better and reach its fullest potential through this innovative air handling and energy recovery ventilation solution.
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is important for maintaining a healthy commercial building environment. At XeteX, addressing IAQ is not just about meeting compliance and regulations, it's about designing HVAC systems that satisfy facility owners help their buildings breathe better and where building occupants are comfortable year-round.
XeteX is a nation-wide leader in the design and manufacturing of custom HVAC solutions for commercial and industrial buildings, like this innovative Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) for a downtown highrise. It features 100% outdoor air using high quality energy recovery ventilation technologies designed to enhance IAQ while optimizing efficient year-round climate control, and quiet operation. Let's take a look.

A standout innovation of this XeteX custom DOAS is its ability to provide year-round energy efficient climate control by integrating an enthalpy energy recovery wheel with heating and cooling equipment. The indirect gas-fired furnace and hot gas reheat capabilities ensure that the building remains comfortable during cold winters. While during the hot summer season, the packaged DX cooling system takes over, providing a 105 tons of cooling capacity. The variable frequency drive (VFD) and staged compressors further enhance the cooling system's efficiency by optimizing energy use based on real-time demand.
The enthalpy wheel with full season controls is a key component in energy recovery and efficiency. This device captures energy from the outgoing air (exhaust air). Then the enthalpy wheel pre-conditions the incoming fresh air (outdoor air).
The enthalpy wheel significantly reduces the load on heating and cooling systems and improves energy efficiency of the building's HVAC system with an energy effectiveness of 85% in winter and 83% in summer. This not only lowers operational costs but also reduces the buildings carbon footprint, making it a more sustainable solution. The energy recovery wheel helps maintain indoor air quality, control humidity levels, and contribute to a comfortable and healthy indoor environment.
Enhancing Air Quality with High Efficiency Filters
Along with the DOAS drawing 100% outdoor air, high efficiency filters capture a wide range of airborne contaminants. Together the filtered fresh air provides a healthier indoor environment for the occupants of this commercial building.
As an outdoor HVAC system, noise pollution can be a factor for both the commercial building occupants as well as for its neighbors. XeteX addresses this issue by integrating sound dampening perforation liners into the supply air and exhaust air fan sections—quietly delivering 27,816 CFM.
XeteX custom air handling and energy recovery ventilation solutions offer a comprehensive approach to enhancing indoor air quality and energy efficiency in commercial buildings. By integrating high quality energy recovery technologies, high efficiency filters, packaged DX cooling, heating devices, and more, XeteX helps buildings breathe better and reach their fullest potential.
